Stockholm-based photographer, Moa Karlberg has captured two very different realities of an experience shared by women all over the world. Her stunning photo series, Hundred Times the Difference, portrays the beauty and pain of labour, as well as the various environments in which women give birth. "During their lifetime, the majority of the world’s women give birth to at least one child," she writes in an introduction to her project. "Although everybody goes through the same phases physically, the external conditions are fundamentally different. I have photographed women in labor in Sweden, which has among the world’s lowest maternal mortality rates, and Tanzania, where the risk of dying in childbirth is a hundred times higher," Moa adds.
