New Girl star Zooey Deschanel is pregnant

New Girl star, singer-songwriter and all round top gal Zooey Deschanel has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Jacob Pechenik. “Jacob and I are over the moon,” she told People. “We are so excited to meet our little one.” The actress, 34, is due to give birth this summer and the tot will be the second baby to arrive in the family this year, with Zooey’s sister Emily Deschanel also expecting a baby with husband David Hornsby. The Bones star is looking forward to adding to her brood with a brother or sister for three-year-old Henry. Zooey Deschanel appears to have had a change of heart when it comes to motherhood. In 2012 she told Marie Claire that she had no plans to start a family:  “My sister was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff." she said. "I like kids, and I like being around kids, but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need. … I like working. That’s what I like doing. I like to work.”
