Worried about picking a baby name that then will turn out to be too trendy?

I mean; I am loving all the seriously cool and unusual names that are doing the rounds right now, but equally – I wouldn't want my child to end up being one of five kids in his class all called Sage or Cove (or, you know, Noah). Anyway, my point is this: If you too are worried about going with a baby name that is too popular, maybe go for one that is really unpopular right now. Such as these ones – which we really feel deserve a bit of second chance: 1. Amanda This name fell from grace after its peak of popularity in the '70s and '80s. 2. Bernard Only 25 baby boys in the UK were given the name in 2018. 3. Debbie Such a cute name, yet hardly any babies were given this name in the past few years. 4. Cecil Another oldie that no-one seems to want anymore – but we reckon it's pretty darn cute. 5. Donna It had its heyday in the 90s, no doubt thanks to 90210 and Donna Martin, but since then, this moniker has been on a steady downward slope. 6. Gerald I mean... You COULD call him Gerry for short... 7. Janet Another firm favourite a few years back that has since declined and declined in popularity. 8. Karl A Scandi name that was rather popular in the 90s, but has since fallen off the favourites list. 9. Leah Such a lovely name, yet very few parents are going for it these days. 10. Tyler In the UK, this name reached its peak position in 2012, but has been slipping down the lists ever since.
