We have decided to combine two of our favourite topics of discussion: baby names and food. We are always on the lookout for nice baby names and today we were just thinking about some more unusual ones (whilst eating lunch). Hence why we’ve found ourselves here, with 15 food-inspired names to whet your (parental) appetite.
Honey This is one sweet moniker, perfect for any little princesses that may come along. The only problem is she might grow up with a sweet tooth! Olive Traditional and classy yet cute, Olive (as in Olive Oil) is a gorgeous name. Of course, you could always opt for the longer version of Olivia. Kobe We had no idea that this name was linked to food but apparently Kobe is a type of beef. We'd say that whoever gets named after this will turn out to be very strong indeed. Rosemary We don't think this moniker will ever go out of fashion and you can do so much with it: "Rose"; "Mary"; and "Rosie." Jasmine Delicate and delightful, Jasmine is one of our favourite picks from the list and yes, we do like the fact that it also appears in Disney film Aladdin. via GIPHY Brie Don't call us cheesy but this one really melts our hearts... in fact, we'd go so far as to say that it's a cracker of a name. (So many puns, so little time.) Benedict We happen to think that this one, which has risen in popularity since the emergence of Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch, is truly eggs-ellent... sorry, we couldn't resist. Angus This is a hearty name, again with beefy origins, that being (Aberdeen) Angus cattle. What mooo-re could you want? Chip Whether your little one is a chip off the old block or not, this is one seriously adorable name. (It also makes us want to visit the chipper.) Saffron Talk about an absolutely fabulous name (get it?) and we love the fact that it can be abbreviated to "Saffy." via GIPHY Coco Let's face it, anything to do with chocolate or chocolate-like substances gets a thumbs-up from us. Also, Courteney Cox used it for her daughter. Rye Perfect for either a boy or a girl, this name means you will be firmly on the gender-neutral baby name train. Clementine We are fond of eating clementines and we are also fond of the name Clementine. This certainly won't leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Kale Believe it or not but some are naming their kids after this superfood. It wouldn't be our favourite but it is definitely unique. Reese While we doubt that it actually originated from Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, we don't really care. We think this is a stunning name. via GIPHY
