Hilary Duff has been mum-shamed over her choice of food while breastfeeding her two-month-old daughter, Banks.

The actress and her boyfriend, Matthew Koma, welcomed their daughter in October 2018. Duff also shares a 6-year-old son, Luca, with her ex-husband Mike Comrie. Earlier in the week, the actress revealed to her followers that her two-month-old daughter had been suffering from colic - as she asked for advice on what to do.
She said:
"Calling all parents of colic babies.....this ends right? Can you ever set them down with out them screaming OR waking up? "We have read everything the internet has to offer... nothing besides nursing basically every hour or less helps! We have done all the obvious things ..please leave magic tricks in comments."
Many fans offered their sympathies - and solutions - in the comments section. However, after Duff's follow-up post, that soon changed. The picture showed the 31-year-old breastfeeding her young daughter, as she ate what appeared to be brussels sprouts. A lot of the commentaries began to suggest that her choice in food may be a factor in her daughter's colic.
One person said:
"FYI...Brussels sprouts falls in the category of “gassy” food and sort of difficult for baby to subsequently digest in mothers milk. Just a thought.
Another parent added:
"Brussels sprouts/cabbage/broccoli and a lot of other veggies will give baby bad gas pains!! Be careful."
Someone else wrote:
"Maybe you should start finding what foods you are consuming when your baby starting to get the most cranky. "Brussels sprouts most likely is a contributor. Certainly you've been in touch with a lactation specialist regarding food transfer to the child via your milk. Praying your kiddo reacts well and you're cholic free soon!"
