Is it just me or do toddlers bear a striking resemblance to Gremlins? Fans of the films will know that, like with toddlers, there are some hard and fast rules to looking after Gremlins (or Mogwai if you want to get technical) which the characters in both Gremlins 1 and Gremlins 2 failed to get their heads around. They are as follows: 1 Do not feed them after midnight. 2 Do not get them wet. 3 Do not leave them in direct sunlight. All of these rules could just as easily apply to my toddler. He can't stand the bath, if he gets fed after midnight then all hell breaks loose and he'll be in party form from 1am-6am and he is highly sensitive to light of any kind and requires absolute darkness (oh blackout blinds what would I do without you?) in order to sleep. Here are all the other ways that toddlers are just like Gremlins: 4 They love cuddles They are prone to manic episodes of giddiness... 6 But if things aren't going their way they can quite easily turn into this... 7 For the most part they hate wearing clothes. Clothes cramp their style. Toddlers love to get naked 8 They enjoy senseless destruction... 9 They're always the life and soul of the party 10 Their affection, though always welcome, can be a tad aggressive 11 And everything is always, always sticky...
