Television at this time of year is definitely one of the highlights so we've put together a list of movies for you to watch when the little ones are all tucked up in bed, exhausted from playing with their new toys. A freshman gets far more than she bargained for when she joins a singing group at college. True Grit - RTÉ One - 11.10pm A tough US Marshal decides to help a teenager track down the person who murdered her father. Gambit - BBC Two - 11.50pm Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz star in this flick about an art curator who enlists the help of a rodeo queen to get revenge on his boss.

St Stephen's Day Captain Phillips - RTÉ One -10.25pm True story about the captain of a cargo ship which got taken over by Somali pirates in 2009. With Tom Hanks. Chocolat - UTV Ireland - 11.05pm Romantic drama in which a woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a quaint French village. Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp lead the cast. Kinky Boots - BBC Two - 11.15pm A man whose family shoe business faces closure comes up with a plan, after meeting a drag queen, to turn its fortunes around. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor.
