Before I had a baby what constituted a day-maker was radically different to what constitutes a day-maker post-baby. In fact, I find it quite difficult to remember what I used to consider day-makers before sticky, snotty kisses and toothy toddler smiles. 10 things that can completely make my day now that I'm a parent: 1. Waking up to discover that I didn't get up once last night Which, by extension, means that the baby *whisper it* slept through the whole goddamn, motherf*cking night. AHHHHH-mazin'. And rare... like unicorn rare. via GIPHY 2. Sleeping till SEVEN AM This is like the proverbial white whale of parenthood and basically counts as a sleep-in now. Any day that I don't see 6 am counts as a lie-in day. And, natch, any time I actually do get a lie-in my internal clock kicks in at 6.30 am and BAM, like that, I'm up with the birds. It's like a law of parenthood. via GIPHY 3. Going to the toilet alone It's just so relaxing. via GIPHY 4. A morning kiss from my notoriously withholding son See also 10 things only parents of non-cuddly babies will understand. via GIPHY 5. Leg hugs Pre-parenthood, the only person who'd ever given me a leg-hug was an inebriated wedding guest who'd fallen over during the Hokey Pokey and was trying to take me down with him. Now a leg-hug is the single best thing to happen to me every day. via GIPHY 6. When I ask The Child if he is happy? And he answers "Appy!" It's squeeeee-inducing and is the main reason I blame for considering another baby. via GIPHY 7. Getting The Child to have a nap An incident-free nap is such a rarity in my house that any time one takes place I triumphantly high-five myself. (Usually waking The Child in the process. Doh.) via GIPHY 8. The running hug This is where The Child runs towards me with such force that we usually end up head-butting rather than kissing. Freakin' adorbs. via GIPHY 9. Opening the wine I'm easily pissed *I mean* pleased via GIPHY 10. Reading a book uninterrupted With a box of chocolates and a glass of wine. Or just relaxing with some light massage. Heaven. via GIPHY We want to know what YOUR post-kids DAY-MAKERS are? Let us know in the comments... Main image via Wikipedia
