We may have been spoiled with the spring sunshine of late. It seems the cold (complete with hailstone and rumours of snowfall) has returned for one last blast of frost and ice before summer. Met Éireann correctly predicted the need for a cosy coat this morning with temperatures around freezing in many places and widespread frost. The chilly weather is set to last too, with temperatures reaching only nine or 10 degrees during the day and showery rain and blustery winds replacing the morning sunshine this afternoon. It'll be cold again tonight with little change in temperature tomorrow and heavy showers and strong blustery winds forecast for Wednesday Thursday will be cold with sunshine and scattered showers, before a dry and sunny Friday when the temperature will begin to rise again for the weekend. Saturday will be dry during the day with showers in the evening, but the warm weather will finally return on Sunday with temperatures rising to around 15 or 16 degrees.
