A woman has died after being involved in a Luas collision this morning

The incident happened at around 10am.

A woman has died after being struck by a Luas tram this morning between the Cookstown and Tallaght Hospital stops. The Gardaí issued a statement, stating:

"Gardai in Tallaght are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a tram and a pedestrian between the Cookstown and Tallaght Hospital Luas stops, Tallaght bound, this morning (14/02/19) at approximately 10am. "A woman (no age confirmed) was fatally injured when she was struck by a tram. Her body remains at the scene. "Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who were on the tram at the time, witnesses who were on Cookstown Way or any motorist who may have ‘dash cam’ footage, to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 6666000, The Garda Confidential telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
