Gardaí have confirmed that a woman has died after a road accident in Nenagh, County Tipperary early this morning.
The accident occurred at roughly 7am this morning on the M7 motorway between junction 24 and junction 23 northbound.
There was only one vehicle involved in the accident, which according to Gardaí occurred when the car she was travelling in struck a barrier.
The woman's age is not yet known and her name has not been made public.
Road conditions across the country were hazardous last night and this morning, with frost and ice forming on surfaces in many places.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area to get in touch with them.
