If you have one or more kids at home, plus maybe a dog or cat scratching at the door, a washing machine on constant and Peppa Pig doing her thing on the TV, you are missing something vital - PEACE AND QUIET. Yesterday, my four-year-old son refused to go to Easter camp and so instead spent the day going 'Mammy? Mammy?.. Mammy I'm calling you.. Mammy, watch this!.. Em, Mammy? Mammy?' I was doing pretty well in the patience stakes until about 6pm when I really, really wanted to take five minutes and just quieten my mind. I put some TV on, grabbed a cuppa and sat down on the couch. 'Mammy?' Yup, it didn't end until we all fell asleep somewhere around 8pm. So this video really made me laugh today because I totally get this man's reaction to the silence. I love my kids and I want them to be a chatty, messy, playful and inquisitive as they need to be but.. I also just need a minute sometimes. Just one minute.
