Teenager In Serious Condition After Fall From Bridge in Cork This Morning

A 13-year-old girl is in serious condition in hospital after falling from a motorway bridge in Mahon, Cork. The Irish Independent reports that the teenager, believed to be from the local area, fell onto an embankment beside the roadway, directly underneath the bridge. According to the publication, she was found by a passerby after which paramedics assessed her condition and rushed her to Cork University Hospital. While she reportedly suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries in the incident, which occurred shortly after 8.00am this morning, it is hoped that doctors can stabilise her condition. Gardaí will apparently be looking at CCTV footage of the area and have asked anyone with information to contact Blackrock Garda Station on (021) 453 6690.
