Hundreds of students in Milford National School, Limerick, have been evacuated this morning after alerts of a bomb scare. Reported by The Limerick Post, the scare came after a text message was sent to the school shortly after 10.30am. Three units of Limerick City Fire and Rescue were deployed to the scene along with Gardai and paramedics. The scare comes just hours after a number of schools in the UK were targeted in hoax attacks. The Army Bomb Disposal Unit have also been notified. The Garda Press Office has confirmed that it is "investigating a number of reports received this morning in the country in relation to possible subject devices." Their investigation is "ongoing." UPDATE (1.50pm): According to The Limerick Leader, pupils at the school in Limerick have returned to their classrooms.
