Tune in to Channel 4's Extraordinary Births tonight for a most unusual birth plan. Presenter Katie Piper will meet intrepid (or foolhardy depending on your take) parents, Dorina Rosin and Maika Suneagle from Hawaii who plan to give birth in the sea in the presence of dolphins. Piper remained pretty noncommittal about the couple's decision telling the Times: "I found the dolphin people a bit out-there but they seemed so happy and the woman was so relaxed." The presenter also spoke on Lorraine yesterday saying: "well it isn't for me but it's right for her. You know, happy mum, happy baby." Others haven't been quite so reserved: Marine biologist, Christie Wilcox writing in Discover magazine in 2013 about (incredibly) another couple considering the dolphin-assisted birth said that it was a very "bad idea". "No matter how cute they might appear, dolphins are not cuddly companions," she added, "They’re wild animals, and they are known to do some pretty terrible things." Here is Dorina during what she describes as a 38-week blessing swimming with the dolphins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx3pmYRTBds Extraordinary Births is on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm
