Meet new dad Kyle Casson, 26, the first man in the UK to use his own mother as a surrogate

Add us as a preferred source on Google »When 26-year-old Kyle Casson became a dad for the fist time eight months ago, he also accomplished a number of other 'firsts'.
Not only was Kyle the first single man in the UK to become a father through surrogacy, he was also the first man to do so using his own mother as a surrogate.

Kyle's mother Ann-Marie Casson, 46, stepped in to help her son, who works in a supermarket, after another surrogate was forced to drop out. The baby is the product of Kyle's sperm and a donor egg, which were implanted in Mrs. Casson. He was born by C-Section.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mrs. Casson said: “When he first came to me and his dad, I thought ‘I could do it’. Some people, when they did find out, said ‘urgh’, but they don’t understand.
“He is not biologically tied to me, other than he’s my grandson. I love being a parent and for Kyle to experience that, I would do that for him."
Last week a High Court judge ruled that Kyle can adopt the little boy, called Miles, despite legally being the child's brother.
Explaining his determination to become a young single father, Kyle told the Daily Mail: "Even my dad said that – why don’t you wait to meet someone. But nobody can guarantee that I will meet anyone. I did not choose to be gay, I was born that way. I was born being unable to have kids. I can’t just go and have sex with a woman. Being a dad was a high priority in my life and now I have done it."
