Hook Head in Wexford took a battering from Storm Brian this morning

Wexford is one of seven counties affected by a status orange weather warning.

Powerful waves from the Celtic Sea crashed against Hook Head in Wexford on Saturday morning as Storm Brian made its presence felt in Ireland. Though counties in the west of the country appeared to be the worst affected by Storm Brian, with spot flooding reported in a number of counties, Wexford and Waterford were also issued with a status orange weather warning, which remains in effect until 10pm on Saturday night. Gusts of up to 130km/h were forecast in the seven counties affected - Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford – and by the looks of things, they were pretty strong in the Model County early this morning.
