Friends of a woman who died with her sons in a murder-suicide days before Christmas have launched a fundraising campaign for the family's sole surviving child.

Ewelina Szwarc and her sons, nine-year-old Oskar and seven-year-old Christian, were murdered by their father Victor Marin Del Sol in the town of Pyrzyce in Poland on 22 December. He had travelled to Poland to spend Christmas with his children. Her father then killed himself. Ewelina had moved back to her native Poland from Dublin with her children while Spanish native Marin Del Sol stayed on in Ireland working as a waiter. Her children attended school in Rathfarnham while Ewalina worked in a Karen Millen store on Grafton Street in the city. "Ewelina was the kindest most beautiful person inside and out and an incredible mother to her three children," they wrote on the page. "We are setting up a fund for Maria Victoria and would appreciate any donations that you can afford." Investigations into the murders are ongoing.
