A four-year-old girl was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Co Clare yesterday morning.

The collision took place on the Ennis to Ennistymon road in Clare on Wednesday morning at approximately 9am, the Irish Independent reports. Emergency crews, including three ambulances, two units of the Ennistymon fire brigade, and a paramedic unit attended the incident. The Independent also reports that a local doctor and nurse, who happened to be passing at the time, assisted at the scene. The four-year-old was reported to have been unresponsive and was resuscitated at the roadside prior to being airlifted to University Hospital Limerick by the Emergency Aeromedical Service air ambulance. The male drivers of both cars, were transferred to hospital by ambulance. One man is said to be in a serious condition, while the young girl's condition remains critical.
