Niamh de Brún has been praised for being honest about the realities of being a new mum.

She said things have not been easy for her since she welcomed her daughter in November. Niamh and Kilkenny hurler TJ Reid are parents to a beautiful baby girl, but the new mum said things haven't been easy since her daughter was born.
She opened up about the daily thoughts she has as a new mum and many parents praised her for being so honest about what it is really like. Niamh wrote on Instagram, "For the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed. "You’re not alone in your feelings and it’s completely normal. We got this." She said she is constantly wondering if she will ever not feel tired again. She said she also wonders if her daughter will ever sleep through the night.

"Nothing can prepare you for motherhood"

Alongside a selfie of Niamh, she shared the things she worries about as a new mum. They included worrying about having more than one child. She also said she wishes her family lived closer to her and questioned if she will ever feel like herself again. She added, "No matter how much prep I did, nothing can prepare you for motherhood."
Niamh and TJ Reid announced the birth of their daughter in November. Her baby girl Harper was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny. Niamh praised the staff for helping her during the birth. "A love like no other. Welcome to the world Harper Mary Reid. Born Sunday 20th November, 7 lbs 10 oz."
