Dublin Bus withdrawing all services as ex-Hurricane Ophelia nears

As ex-Hurricane Ophelia approaches, Dublin Bus have warned of "significant disruption" to routes and confirmed they are withdrawing services as of 10am.

The public transport company issued a statement warning commuters of significant disruption to some travel services, while gardaí encouraged people to avoid unnecessary travel. https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/919657869670277121 While peak services operated as normal, the company said there would be "significant disruption" to routes between 10 am and 7pm. Services will be withdrawn from 10 am and resume around 7pm, provided it is safe to do so. https://twitter.com/dublinbusnews/status/919831634643443712 The statement read:

"Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that services are operating this morning. "However due to the RED weather alert issued by Met Éireann, the following will apply for our services today: "Morning peak services are operating as normal. "There will be significant disruption to services from 10.00 to 19.00. "Services will be withdrawn from 10.00. We hope to return services from 19.00 or when we can safely operate our services. "However, customers should be aware that services may experience delays and disruptions to service and service levels will be dependent on weather conditions. "Dublin Bus will review the situation on an ongoing basis and is taking advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Coordination Committee. "The safety of our customers and our employees is of paramount importance.
