A one-year-old boy has tragically died after being found with injuries at a flat in the Finsbury Park area of North London. A girl of the same age remains in a critical condition.

Police were called to Wilberforce Road in Finsbury Park on Saturday night and discovered the toddlers who were subsequently rushed to a hospital in East London. The Evening Standard reports that the young boy was pronounced dead shortly before 1am, while the one-year-old girl remains in a critical condition. No details have been released as to how the toddlers may have sustained their injuries. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that although no arrests have been made, enquiries are underway:
"Next of kin are aware. Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course."
A Police helicopter was searching the Finsbury Park area in the early hours of this morning. A spokesperson for the Police Air Service said that they were assisting officers from Hackney "after two children were found seriously injured at an address in Wilberforce Road."
