13-year-old Luke Culhane from Limerick has just found fame as the French newspaper Mon Quotidien recently named him the 2016 ‘Child of the Year.’

The young filmaker became an internet sensation earlier this year when his short film ‘Cyber Bullying: Create No Hate’ went viral in February, being viewed more than 550,000 times on Youtube.

The film recounts Luke’s own experience with cyber bullying and aims to raise awareness of the issues facing teenagers online today – urging everyone to stop playing their part in this growing problem. The talented teen, whose picture graced the paper's cover, was named ‘l’enfant de l’année 2016’ by Mon Quotidien, who also congratulated him for standing up to online bullying.
