Thousands of motor insurance customers across Ireland will be receiving an average refund of €80 after being overcharged by 123.ie. The insurance company admitted the error to the Irish Examiner, and claims it was caused by a technical error relating to each customer's vehicle history information. Those who were overcharged are also likely to receive an extra five per cent in compensation and letters explaining the situation should be arriving this week. 123.ie has confirmed that it is currently refunding customers and has taken steps to ensure the error doesn’t recur.
