On Silver Strand beach

Four people have been rescued after two girls were swept out to sea on an inflatable toy in Co. Wicklow. The incident took place on Silver Strand beach on Sunday afternoon. The girls are currently being treated in CHI Temple Street. It is understood that two men tried to rescue the girls after the tide dragged them out to sea. Luckily, they managed to lift them onto some nearby rocks. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQIsJOqnzqL/ The four were then rescued by the Wicklow RNLI and Rescue 116 at 5.30pm. Both the Inshore Lifeboat and All Weather Lifeboat were deployed in the rescue operation. The two men did not need medical attention. Rescue 116 urged the public to stop using inflatable toys in the sea as it can be extremely dangerous. "A quick reminder that inflatable toys do not belong anywhere near the sea."
