Television weather forecaster Evelyn Cusack has warned Irish women to tone down their wardrobe if they want to succeed at work. The 50-year-old presenter, mum to 15-year-old daughter Fleur, said she feels being "too frivolously dressed" can hamper your career opportunities. Speaking to Woman's Way, Cusack said: "It's hard to take a woman seriously when you're hearing her leather skirt squeaking and her earrings dangling," ww
"I'm a bit like Angela Merkel, nobody comments on her clothes, she just has 40 different jackets in different colours," she said.
The broadcaster, recently voted one of RTÉ's most popular added: "I don't think women should be sexy at work, that's my opinion." The Deputy Head of Forecasting at Met Éireann and Secretary of the Irish Meteorological Society said that, while she likes to dress well for television, she doesn't like to distract the viewers.
