We don't ask for much, do we? But time is always of the essence and when we manage to wrangle a child from our personal space and get a moment to beautify – solo – we want to fast-track our look, feel fabulous and never (I repeat NEVER) feel Mumsy or look like a giant fluffy poodle... think Margot Robbie, the Princess of plaits as your style inspo.
Here are the easiest up-dos that make a big impact.
The maximum impact braided 'up-do'
1. Brush that crazy mop. Grab bunches of hair all around the nape of your neck and douse with hair spray.
2. Backcomb and tease the hair big style to keep its fullness.
3. Begin plait as shown from the nape with eyes to the floor and head down.
4. Continue until you have reached the crown of your head and then scoop the hair into a high pony.
5. Get a bun-maker. The bigger the better and slip the pony through it.
6. Tuck the hair in around it.

2 The easy-to-master French braid
