With iPhone in hand in the wee hours of the morning when I should be asleep, I have been silently observing a really gorgeous trend on Instagram.. the wedding cape. In place of the traditional veil, the wedding cape is elegant, dramatic and completely bad-ass. Wearing a cape up the aisle is a major rebel move that says 'I am the QUEEN of this day and I make no apologies for it!' And as a dramatic, bad-ass rebel who is getting married at the end of the year myself, I am so relieved to see this because I haven't been able to grasp the notion of wearing a veil on our wedding day at all. My partner and I are having a family-style day but in a non-traditional way, and so I had originally toyed with the idea of wearing a coat to compliment my dress instead of a veil altogether. Until I found The Cape. Oh, The Cape solves all of my problems. I am SO down with The Cape!
