No big deal but tonight I am GOING OUT. (Okay, so this is quite a big deal.) While I can't wait to see what the night has in store, I already know how the getting ready process will unfold. I'm sure most mums will agree that trying to complete any sort of beauty regime with a young child in tow is a near-impossible task. Here are 5 tried and tested shortcuts I am undoubtedly going to be taking this Saturday night... 1. Hair When you can't get away with another dry shampoo, cut your hair drying time by using a microfiber towel instead. If you don’t have time to find a microfiber towel, a soft cotton t-shirt or paper towels will also do the trick. 2.Nails If you've painted your nails and need them to dry fast, dunk your digits in a bowl of cold water for around a minute to cut your drying time. After shaking the water off, give them a quick spritz of hairspray to help seal the varnish. 3.Tan You've applied fake tan but you need to get dressed like NOW. Time to get the hairdryer out and give the tanned areas a quick blast of warm air. 4.Makeup It's time to leave the house but you haven't finished applying your makeup yet. Keeping travel-sized versions of your must-have items comes in handy when you need to makeup on the go; they take up less room in your bag so you can finish your face en route. You could even use your lipstick as blush so you have even less items to carry. 5.End of the night When you finally roll into bed (before midnight, let's face it), you'll probably have just enough energy to put your pyjamas on, let alone remove your make up (that you applied in the car). Keeping a pack of moisturising face wipes next to the bed will mean you can wipe your face clean in under 30 seconds. And sleep.
