Beauty guru, Liz Dwyer set up Beauty Bootcamp, the wildly popular Dublin courses in makeup and hairstyling after a decade spent "knee-deep in moisturiser and make-up". During her work as a beauty editor on countless fashion shoots, she was always amazed at the transformation of the models into magazine-ready stunners. LD "I felt if every woman could gain an insight into the make-up and hair tricks and techniques I see being used backstage, we'd all be on a lot more equal footing when it comes to looking gorgeous. So I rounded up some of the best hair and make-up people in the business and together we created Beauty Bootcamp." I recently attended a taster session for Beauty Bootcamp which focused on changing up your routine for the summer, and I have to say it's changed, if not my life, at least my fake tan application forever more. I've always felt a bit out of place in the realm of makeup and serums and products. I feel like I just don't get it most of the time, but Beauty Bootcamp was so fun and relaxed that I came away with renewed enthusiasm for all things beauty. Here are 5 Great Tips From Beauty Expert, Liz Dwyer: 1. For fake tan, Liz recommends mixing Sally Hansen (€16.89 at Boots) with a generous spray of argan oil (€18.99 at Boots). I've fully embraced this tip, and it really helps with smoother application and gives the tan a really nice finish. 2. For sun block, Liz recommends making the investment; skincueticals sun block is her personal fave. Buy here. 3. For a base, Liz says keep things super light with a good BB or CC cream. Garnier Miracles is a nice budget option at €11.99, buy here. Liz suggests building up a Summer base gradually, using concealer where necessary and remember to use a patting motion for optimum application. 4. For bronzer, Liz suggests either Tom Ford Cream Bronzer for an investment buy or the Sleek Bronze Block as a more budget option. Buy here for €9.49 5. For blending, Liz has a surprisingly budget-friendly must-have, the Penneys Beauty Blender €1.50, buy here. Beauty Bootcamp runs daylong courses focusing on beauty and styling for every age.
