Lots of us may think we want a pared-back look for our big day but when it really comes down to it, many brides choose to go the extra mile to stand out. It could be a dramatic silhouette, a slightly risqué neckline or even just a quirky pair of shoes under your dress - we've all considered how best to wow our guests as we walk down the aisle. One way to do it is with what Etsy says is a big bridal trend for 2018 - the statement veil. Searches for dramatic veils are up by 213 per cent on last year on the site. It's the only occasion where you'll ever wear a veil (probably), so why not go big with it? You could opt for lace, embroidery, diamantés, fringing, something long and sweeping; anything that takes a plain veil to the next level. Also set to be big with brides this year are capes, according to Etsy. Searches for wedding capes are up 44 per cent; perhaps another sign that we all want a next-level look when we tie the knot.
