Neutral, Scandi – and very 'hygge.'

We are just days away from November, meaning – I think we can all agree – that we can absolutely start mentioning the 'C' word, no? Christmas is coming, and unlike last year, we can now finally gather friends and family in our homes once more – for drinks, festive food and general merriment. And when it comes to entertaining at Christmas time, I don't know about you, but I really want my home to look – and feel – warm, cosy, festive and inviting – and right now, H&M Home's brand new Christmas collection ticks all those boxes.

Scandi chic Christmas

Being a Swedish company, it almost goes without saying that H&M's festive interior collection oozes Scandi chic. Neutral colours and a nature-inspired palette creates the perfect stylish, yet cosy backdrop – and metallic details in copper and gold add a festive flair. Come Christmas time, more is more when it comes to soft textures, and I love to fill sofas, beds and armchairs with cushions and throws, making them look extra inviting for curling up with a new book or a warming cup of hot chocolate. Accents of greens and browns pair perfectly with the neutral tones of beige, white and grey, and gives off a sleek Scandi vibe for your entire festive celebrations.

Modern, warm or traditional

This year, the H&M Christmas Collection is shown across three homes, with three home styles. From a modern home with concrete details, to a living space with warm wooden details. And lastly, for a bit more colour, a red – and slightly more traditional – Christmas home. Just like the IKEA Christmas collection, H&M Home is predicting a very neutral-looking Christmas too, with lots of added greenery for a natural touch. Love a pared-back Christmas vibe? You will be in your element with this collection.

A cottagecore Christmas

If a classic, red Christmas style is your vibe, however, you will like these more traditional looks. The cottagecore interior style has been trending lately, as a result, many think, of the world being in chaos with the pandemic. And so to comfort ourselves, we long for things and styles that are more traditional, warm and nostalgic. I mean; these pictures are making us feel all warm and wholesome inside, no?
