The Freakshake: Bringing ALL the boys and girls to the yard

It's rare that (PMS aside) we would seriously consider purchasing a €5,000 plane ticket just to sample a dessert, but a new Australian bakery has us giving a round trip to Oz some serious thought. Pâtissez bakery in Canberra has invented a milkshake guaranteed to bring ALL the boys (and girls) to the yard. And, as this picture clearly demonstrates, these people do not fool around. Sweet-toothed visitors form an orderly queue outside the shop, which only opened two months ago, daily to sample The Freakshow, an ice-cream, sugar and cake-laden festival of calories that has been selling out.

Flavours include The Muddy Pât: "A warm fudge hot shake using house made dark chocolate fudge - topped with vanilla bean whipped cream, carrying a super fudgy choc brownie - crowned with a toasted house-made marshmallow," Other concoctions feature spoon-loads of Nutella, salty pretzels, double cream and warm caramel topped with pecan pie
