Call it a panacea to all the weirdness in the world right now, but unicorn-inspired baked goods and cheat-day treats are having a moment. And we'll say this: we're not mad at them. If you want to take things to the next level after trying a unicorn latté, a new all-day event about to take place in Dublin could be a Sunday well spent. Decobake Dublin are holding a beginners and improvers Unicorn Cake Class next week (February 5th) at their Bachelor's Walk sugar emporium Sweet Republic. Participants will learn how to layer, crumb coat and cover a tall, real cake in Ice Wise Sugar Paste. They'll also learn basic modelling, how to pipe with buttercream, how to make swirls and flowers, and basic painting. *Drool* You need to be serious about your baking to book (it's €120), but the fee includes all the materials you'll need to make your cake and achieve the perfect design as well as a lovely lunch. Plus, once you've got the basic skills down, there's nothing to stop you knocking out a brand new unicorn cake at home every weekend. It doesn't get much more magical than that.
