Christine McGuinness has said she was heartbroken after a mum complained about her children with autism.

The mum said that she and her twins, Leo and Penelope, were attending a play centre during the week, and that even though this would usually be a challenging environment for her kids, they were both coping very well. However, Christine said that she was aware that another mother had complained about the "noise" her twins were making. https://www.instagram.com/p/BnMU07JD5ep/?hl=en&taken-by=mrscmcguinness She took to Instagram to express her disappointment at the complaint, saying:
"Play centres are a challenging environment for my kids anyway. But they done really well. They loved it. "I did over hear a lady complaining about my children. She complained about the noises they were making. She said, 'there must be something wrong with those children.' It broke my heart."
Christine went on to say that the five-year-olds were just "being happy" as they played in the centre.
"My kids don't usually like noise but they are the loudest in the room," she continued.
"But let them enjoy themselves, they are expressing, they are happy. "People should see past the autism and see that they are happy children. Leave them alone."
Christine and husband Paddy McGuinness said that they noticed behavioural issues in their twins before their diagnosis when they were three-and-a-half. The couple also have one other daughter, Felicity Rose.
